2004-2008 YFZ 450 98mm Big Bore Kit
The 2004-2005 Yamaha YFZ 450 is a great
machine. To run it at the original 440cc and
make reliable power Sparks Racing offers a
standard bore high compression piston kit
(13.5:1). This piston drops right into the stock
cylinder. The kit also includes head and base
gaskets. We do also STRONGLY
reccommend that the Sparks Racing oiling
modification be performed to the bottom end
of the machine. What that is the addition of
some oil ports that puts an extra shot of oil to
the underside of the piston. We have found
this essential to the YFZ 450 being reliable
with a high compression piston. Yamaha has
done this same thing to the 2007 models.
